CIHT launches 2026 Annual CPD Review for members

Institution opens a yearly review window for members to log and reflect on professional development.

The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) has launched its 2026 Annual CPD Review, opening the window for members to submit evidence of continuing professional development undertaken over the last twelve months. The review is a core obligation for chartered, incorporated and technician members and supports the Institution's licensed status with the Engineering Council.

The review process combines self-assessment, selective sample audits and guided reflection. Members record formal training, on-the-job learning, mentoring, conference attendance and private study against the Institution's published competence themes. CIHT has reminded members that the Chartered Transport Planning Professional register, administered jointly with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and TransportTransport Planning Society and partner bodies, follows the same annual cycle.

CIHT has published updated templates, worked examples and a short explanatory video on its members' portal. The Institution has said the changes to this year's review reflect feedback gathered from 2025 participants and are intended to reduce administrative burden while maintaining the rigour required of a Royal Chartered body.
