About the Organisation

We are the College of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH). We are the largest UK multidisciplinary membership organisation working at the heart of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), supporting 14,000 healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care. We provide an important voice for SRH professionals. We influence policy and public opinion, working with local and national governments, MPs, commissioners, policymakers, the media, patient groups, and other decision-makers.

About the role

Are you a creative Marketing Officer with a passion for digital communication and engagement? Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our digital strategy, with responsibility for implementing our social media strategy to help the CoSRH meet its business objectives. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Social Media and Marketing Officer to join our small but dynamic marketing team. In this role, you will manage our digital communications to members and prospective members, working alongside the Digital Team.

You will be responsible for creating original copy and multimedia content, managing our email newsletters, and paid and organic digital communications. You will manage our social media accounts (LinkedIn, Instagram) and ensure activities are aligned with our campaign and brand goals. You will focus on tailoring our communications for our range of audiences –from doctors and nurses, to midwives, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.

You will ensure our brand identity is applied in a consistent and cohesive way. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to express our messages and values accurately and creatively. You will have experience working with a content planner, and you’ll be able to work across teams to create and deliver communications solutions to support the achievement of their strategic objectives. This includes our suite of qualifications, courses, and assessments, our dedicated events programme, and the advocacy work of our External Affairs team.

You will have proven experience in delivering multi-channel digital activity, including paid advertising, to optimise digital impact and maximise audience engagement. You will also have experience in understanding data and using analytics to measure activity and increase impact. 

Responsibilities

Digital Communications:

  • Assist with developing a programme of tailored digital communications to specific, identified audiences and managing the content planner for scheduling and delivery.
  • Proactively gather stories, write, collate, edit, and produce high-quality regular digital newsletters to our various audience groups, to agreed deadlines.
  • Track key analytics on our newsletters to proactively assess results and make improvements to help improve deliverability, open, and click-through rates.
  • Work alongside the Digital Engagement Lead on managing and maintaining the Google Ad accounts, assisting in keyword planning, campaign delivery, and channel optimisation.
  • Produce regular reports on our digital communications impact, making and implementing recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure our communications practices are GDPR compliant.
  • Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in digital, social media, design tools, and applications.

Social Media:

  • Collaborate to develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with and supports our strategic goals.
  • Manage our social media channels and oversee social media accounts’ design (across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, and Bluesky), in collaboration with the External Affairs team.
  • Generate, edit, and publish authentic multi-media content which drives community engagement (original text, graphics, videos, photos) and share using social scheduling tools (Later.com).
  • Ensure our social platforms uphold and reinforce our brand identity, tone of voice, and inclusive language guide.
  • Develop and execute paid social campaigns, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality standards.

  • Track and produce regular reports, insights, and analysis on owned and paid social media, and assist with plans for improved engagement.

Marketing Support:

  • Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with implementing marketing campaigns to promote our membership benefits, qualifications, standards, and guidance, and events.
  • Create and edit graphics or ads using design tools and templates, for social, email, and other digital channels.
  • Shoot/record and edit video and audio content to produce short podcasts or social videos, using audio/video editing platforms. 

Website:

  • Support the Digital Manager and Digital Engagement Lead on editing and uploading web content via our Content Management System (iMIS RiSE).

Events:

  • Occasionally assist at events as a CoSRH representative and share content live on our social channels.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Experience:

  • Working in a busy stakeholder marketing or digital communications role
  • Producing high-quality creative content from social posts and news items to blog articles, visuals, and graphics
  • Delivering multi-channel digital activity, measuring and optimising impact and audience engagement
  • Managing corporate social media accounts in the not-for-profit, healthcare, membership, and charity sectors
  • Professional use of social scheduling tools and social community management
  • Creating and distributing e-newsletters and managing subscriber lists via email marketing platforms, Mailchimp
  • Developing paid PPC campaigns across social media platforms and Google Ads
  • Analysing data using digital analytics tools, including Google Analytics, social and email analytics, to measure activity and generate insight, reports, and recommendations
  • Understanding data protection guidance and applying it in practice, including GDPR and PECR
  • Using digital design tools (Canva, Adobe) to create professional, branded visual content and graphics
  • Creating, scripting, shooting, audio recording, and using video-editing tools to a basic level, to produce short podcasts or social videos 

Skills and Attributes:

  • Exceptional copywriting, written and verbal communication skills, and able to tailor content to different platforms and audiences
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, with proven initiative to drive projects forward
  • Adept at working as part of a small but supportive team, with a positive, collaborative attitude
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to condense information and present it in an accessible and engaging way
  • Passion for digital communications, with the desire to keep learning and upskilling in platforms, techniques and tools
  • Design and video production skills
  • A desire to make an impact and help us fulfil our charitable aims of supporting healthcare professionals and championing safe and effective sexual and reproductive healthcare for all

Required Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level or equivalent standard, or demonstrating equivalent skills
  • Undergraduate degree level or demonstrating equivalent skills

  • Holiday entitlement 25 days per year, with an additional 2 days leave after 2 years of service, and a further 3 days after 5 years.
