About the Organisation
Our vision is a world free from MND. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families, and their carers. We fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The Association also campaigns and raises awareness so that the needs of people with MND, as well as everyone who cares for them, are recognised and addressed by the wider society.
About the role
Do you enjoy building strong relationships and helping others achieve their fundraising goals? At the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, we are looking for a Relationship Fundraiser to join our team This is a fantastic opportunity where you will help strengthen connections with individuals, local businesses, and our branches and groups face-to-face across the region. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by supporting fundraisers, delivering events, and ensuring every supporter feels valued.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and deliver community, local business (corporates) and fundraising events within your region working with internal teams to ensure the best fundraising experience for our supporters and income for the Association.
- Provide fantastic supporter care including a bespoke supporter journey to our high value voluntary and event fundraisers and local corporates this will involve communicating through a range of methods including face to face meetings as well as phone and email etc.
- Work with our branches and groups to enable them to increase their income through a range of income streams, including their voluntary fundraisers, local events, local trusts, and corporates.
- Ensure through strong relationship and expectation management our fundraisers feel valued and engaged with the charity, maximising their fundraising potential.
- Ensure funds raised for the Association are received correctly and within appropriate timescales.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in Community Fundraising or Relationship Management.
- Experience in coaching and motivating people.
- CRM database experience and knowledge of GDPR.
- Passionate about encouraging and inspiring our supporters to reach their fundraising goals.
- Awareness and respect of diverse backgrounds and perspectives, ensuring inclusivity of fundraisers.
- Ability to understand and relate to the feelings and motivations of our supporters, using a high level of tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to develop and customise verbal and written communication to create the most engaging and effective fundraising experience for our supporters.
- Resilience and flexibility to adapt to changes and challenges while maintaining motivation.
- Ability to establish and maintain bespoke, individual relationships.
- Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail, including writing and responding to email, telephone, virtual and face-to-face meetings and events.
- Experience of working to income targets.
- Ability to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Full clean driving licence.

- Travel requirements across: Lancashire, Manchester and South & West Yorkshire.
