About the role

As part of our continuous growth, we are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Events Officer to support the outreach actions of the organisation on a full-time basis. You will be part of the Communications team, reporting to the Communications Director, and liaising closely with the Policy and Technical teams.

We offer an energetic working environment within a multicultural team in Brussels and full immersion experience in a European industry association. The role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented communicator with a strong interest in renewable energy, EU affairs, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

The candidate will work on the implementation of EBA’s Events and Outreach strategy. His/her main responsibilities will be:

  • Contribute to the organisation of the European Biomethane Week (EBA’s flagship annual event with +700 expected attendees) in coordination with the Events Manager;
  • Support the organisation of training sessions for the European Renewable Gas Training Centre (ERGTC) in coordination with the ERGTC Project Advisor;
  • Ensure the smooth implementation of other events, including webinars, in-person workshops, and meetings;
  • Produce events-related content and visuals for EBA communication channels and ERGTC;
  • Carry out EBA dissemination activities related to EU projects;
  • Maintain the events calendar and budget tracking files.
  • Support internal meetings and member engagement activities.
  • Assist in managing the contact database and CRM updates.
  • Support other tasks related to the EBA Communications Strategy as required.

Skills, Competencies & Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in event coordination, preferably in a European association, NGO, or consultancy.
  • Proven experience in the organisation of events (coordination of logistics, liaising with suppliers and attendees, supporting event promotion and communication, assisting on-site coordination and post-event follow-up).
  • IT-savvy with knowledge of Office 365, Zoom, CMS, marketing tools, and event management platforms will be required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences (members, policymakers, partners, service providers, etc.)
  • Good understanding of the EU institutional environment and interest in renewable energy or sustainability topics.
  • Excellent organisational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a proactive, solution-oriented, and flexible attitude;
  • Strong written and spoken English; knowledge of French or another EU language is an asset

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Event Organisation, Public Relations, or Marketing Communications
