About the role
We’re looking for an Individual Giving & Challenge Events Executive to join our Fundraising team. This role supports fundraising activity that helps almost half a million young people across the UK gain skills for life. You’ll work closely with the Individual Giving Manager to deliver challenge events, supporter communications and fundraising activity, while ensuring donations and supporter records are managed accurately. You’ll be part of a supportive team where ideas are encouraged, and you’ll have opportunities to develop your fundraising skills and experience.
Responsibilities
Supporter and Challenge Events Engagement:
- Manage and grow our challenge events income stream, researching new and engaging ways for people to get involved. With the support of the Individual Giving Manager, this will include participant selection, communications, and excellent stewardship.
- Act as the first point of contact for Individual Giving supporters, managing the Fundraising inbox and responding promptly to enquiries.
- Project manage specific initiatives as agreed with the Individual Giving Manager, including managing stakeholder relationships, prioritising workload, and working flexibly to meet deadlines.
Finance and Database Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date supporter records, ensuring all activity complies with GDPR.
- Process donations across multiple platforms (CAF, JustGiving), ensuring all contributions are correctly recorded and acknowledged
- Work closely with the Finance team to resolve queries promptly, giving donors confidence in how their gifts are managed.
- Act as a superuser on Raiser’s Edge NXT, producing reports and supporting the team with database tasks.
- Support the Individual Giving Manager in maintaining the database and updating the Raiser’s Edge NXT user guide.
- Work with the wider Fundraising team to maintain and refresh the annual fundraising communications plan, ensuring it reaches and engages all our supporters throughout the year
Team Administration:
- Support the Individual Giving Manager with the processing and administration of the Scouts' lottery, legacies and appeals, as and when required.
- Support cross-team working to ensure Individual Giving activity is aligned with the wider Marketing and Communications team, keeping key stakeholders informed of campaigns and opportunities.
- Assist in managing occasional supporter events.
- Undertake training as required and adhere to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising
- Practice, Data Protection Act, and Charities Act.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Skills and Abilities:
- Confidently manage and prioritise multiple projects and tasks, keeping work organised and meeting deadlines.
- Take ownership of challenge events, supporter communications, and team administration, using our fundraising database to keep everything running smoothly.
- Bring your fundraising knowledge and creativity to help grow our Individual Giving programme, developing new ideas and approaches to engage supporters and drive income.
- Thrive in a collaborative team environment, contributing to wider campaigns and sharing insights to strengthen overall fundraising impact.
- Be adaptable and solutions-focused, ready to take on new challenges and support the evolution of this growing income stream.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience managing projects, campaigns, or stakeholders, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines
- Experience in donor stewardship and retention through direct marketing or relationship-building communications, ideally within a fundraising context.
- Experience supporting a team to achieve income or engagement goals, with a track record of contributing to results.
- Experience of working with external agencies and suppliers
- Good knowledge of GDPR and charity law
- Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT or a similar CRM; familiarity with fundraising databases
