About the Organisation

Our vision is a world free from MND. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families, and their carers. We fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The Association also campaigns and raises awareness so that the needs of people with MND, as well as everyone who cares for them, are recognised and addressed by the wider society.

About the role

Do you enjoy building meaningful connections and supporting people to achieve their goals? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Community Relationship Fundraiser to join our Fundraising Team at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. You will be helping people to raise money, which will go towards our vital work supporting the MND community. You will ensure our supporters feel valued while helping to maximise income for the Association.

A home-based role which supports our north region, including Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, County Durham, Tyne and Wear, Cumbria and Northumberland. The Community Relationship Fundraiser will play a vital role in building strong relationships and delivering excellent supporter care.

Responsibilities

  • Stewarding fundraisers within your area, collaborating with internal teams to ensure the best fundraising experience for supporters and income for the Association.
  • Add value and provide excellent supporter care to all community fundraisers, ensuring that they feel valued and engaged with the charity, maximising their income potential, and encouraging retention. This will involve communicating with fundraisers through a range of methods, including phone, email, etc, as well as attending some national events.
  • Increase the value of community fundraisers by building relationships, signposting to branches and groups, cross-selling fundraising activities and encouraging other products where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the wider community team to ensure consistency in process and stewardship tools and ensure that up-to-date and accurate records are kept in the CRM to enable effective relationship management.
  • Ensuring funds raised for the Association are received correctly and within appropriate timescales.
  • Ensure that all fundraiser activities meet the law, best practice guidelines and internal policies.
  • Undertake any other task relevant to the job purpose and ensure that all functions performed reflect the Association's mission and core values

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in fundraising or sales/account management background.
  • Experience in coaching and motivating people.
  • Experience of working to income targets.
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, on the telephone, face to face and in writing.
  • Passionate about encouraging and inspiring our supporters to reach their fundraising goals.
  • Awareness and respect of diverse backgrounds and perspectives, ensuring inclusivity in fundraisers.
  • Ability to understand and relate to the feelings and motivations of our supporters.
  • Resilience and flexibility to adapt to changes and maintain motivation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and multitask with competing priorities
