About the Organisation
CEER is a not-for-profit association under Belgian law and is the independent voice of 39 national energy regulators from across Europe. Through CEER and its Secretariat based in Brussels, European energy regulators cooperate, exchange best practices, and develop regulatory policy to benefit Europe's energy consumers.
About the role
CEER is seeking a Communications Officer to support our strategic communications efforts and shape CEER communications campaigns. This role is central to raising the recognition of the organisation, enhancing member engagement, and amplifying our advocacy and policy work. The Communications Officer will drive this work and create content across digital channels, including social media, the website, and newsletters. The Communications Officer will also support campaigns, track performance, maintain CEER’s visual identity, and assist with events and webinars.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging content for CEER’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Bluesky, and YouTube), website, newsletters, and other digital platforms.
- Assist in the execution of communications campaigns and support in the implementation of the CEER’s external communications strategy.
- Prepare relevant communications materials such as infographics, presentations, using design tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.
- Plan, record, and edit video content highlighting CEER’s deliverables, key messages for social media, events, and campaigns.
- Maintain and update CEER’s website – optimise webpage SEO, track performance, suggest and implement improvements.
- Support the organisation of webinars and events.
- Ensure coherent use of CEER’s visual identity and safeguarding of CEER’s public image.
- Monitor performance analytics across digital platforms through regular reporting.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
- Proven experience of at least 1-2 years in communications, including managing social media and web content, preferably in the non-profit, energy or EU sphere.
- Passionate about marketing and communications, European affairs energy.
- Proactive and self-driven, able to take initiative in identifying communication needs and proposing improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in recording and editing videos, as well as creating content using design tools such as Canva, Adobe suite, etc.
- Proficient in website content management systems (CMS) like WordPress.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders effectively and comfortably.
- Based in Brussels, able to commit to being in Brussels frequently.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or comparable qualification in marketing, communications, public affairs, or international relations.
