About the Organisation
European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) is a membership-based association that has been delivering judicial training excellence for 25 years. Our members are judicial training institutions from all European Union Member States, as well as the Academy of European Law. Our vision is to foster mutual trust between justice practitioners from across the EU and to contribute to creating a common European legal and judicial culture.
We achieve this vision by providing networking opportunities for our members, observers, and partners, and by offering tailored training to all 400.000 judges, prosecutors, court staff, and judicial trainers in the EU. The EJTN Secretariat is a group of highly driven professionals dedicated to achieving the greatest impact through our projects spanning across Europe.
About the role
The Communications Assistant supports the EJTN’s communications and public affairs activities by creating and managing content, assisting in campaigns, and ensuring consistent application of the EJTN’s visual identity, among others. The role reports to the Communications Manager.
Responsibilities
Digital Communications & Social Media:
- Create and schedule content for the EJTN’s LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram channels, including visuals and videos;
- Contribute to the development of social media campaigns featuring different stakeholder groups;
- Maintain a comprehensive editorial and social media calendar;
- Engage with the EJTN’s online audience on relevant occasions, under the supervision and approval of senior colleagues;
- Monitor trends and changes on social media platforms and report on key developments,
- Track, record, and analyse relevant digital analytics and performance metrics;
- Other social media-related tasks as assigned.
Website & Publications:
- Draft concept notes for communications projects and initiatives;
- Create, edit, translate (English to French), and upload content to the EJTN website, ensuring quality and accuracy;
- Assist with the production and dissemination of the monthly EJTN newsletter, including maintaining the subscriber database;
- Support the creation and coordination of large print and digital publications, including the EJTN Annual Report and the Catalogue of Training Activities.
Audiovisual & Merchandise Support:
- Manage the EJTN’s audiovisual libraries (photos, videos, media files)
- Monitor and maintain the stock of the EJTN merchandise;
- Liaise with merchandise providers and contribute to the selection of suitable items;
- Create guidelines and manuals for communication tools, channels, and resources for internal and external use;
- Ensure the consistent application of the EJTN’s visual identity across all communication products.
Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes
Desired Competencies & Experience:
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in an international work environment
- Genuine interest in the EJTN’s mission, and you share the same values;
- Pride yourself in delivering high-quality work within the agreed deadlines
- Impeccable ethics and colleagues can rely on you;
- Comfortable working in a high-paced environment and with various stakeholders, both internal and external;
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading, and the ability to present concepts verbally;
- Excellent organisation and planning skills with a keen eye for detail;
- Proficient in tools such as Canva, WordPress, Google Analytics and social media management platforms
- Excellent command of French and English, both verbal and written;
- Above all, you are a true team player with a friendly, open personality and a sense of humour.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in communications or a related field
