Why present at a seminar
Seminars are an excellent way to share with other association executives your experience and know-how. Sharing with the association community by presenting a webinar highlights your expertise and raises your profile, and should be added to your career profile.
What topics the seminars cover
These are the broad topics covered, however others may be considered.

When the seminars take place
- On most Wednesdays and Thursdays,
- 11:00hrs - 12:30 hrs GMT (and the same time BST during daylight saving time)
The format of the seminars
- Introduction by AAE, 3-4 minutes
- Two association executives speaking about their projects / experiences, with slides for (2 x 15 minutes)
- Consultant / respected supplier speaking about their view (15 minutes)
- Questions from the chair (10 minutes)
- Q&A Panel for (20-30 mins)
- The video technology used is Zoom Meetings / Webinars
Who can attend the seminars and how much does it cost to attend?
- Subscribers & Members of AAE may attend for no fee
- Recordings of the presentations are available to members only after the event (2022 only)
Requirements of Association Speakers
Overview
- Provide information on the talk and the speaker
- Provide presentation slides 7 days in advance
- Present with slides for approximately 15 minutes and answer questions from the host and in the Q&A Panel at the end of the seminar
- Provide any associated documents, specifications etc for the Resource Centre
Provide information on the talk
- Title (60 characters max) - to be agreed with AAE Programme Manager
- 4-6 bullets on what will be covered
Programme manager writes
- Key reason to attend (approx 100 characters)
- A paragraph on the position an association may find themselves in, that the Talk will help with
- A paragraph describing the Talk
Provide information about the speaker
- One paragraph on the experience that makes them authoritative on the subject (not a biography)
- Updated or new short biography
- Photo of headshot in a business style (eg. from your LinkedIn)
Presenting
- Provide your slides 7 days in advance for AAE review
- Join 15 minutes before the seminar begins for briefing and tech test
- Present for approximarely 15 minutes with slides
- Answer questions from the host and on the Q&A panel at the end of the seminar
- If you are uncertain about presenting and sharing screens in Zoom, do a test with AAE on the Monday before the seminar
For after the event
- The presenters may contribute related documents or best practice information to AAE's Resource Centre for access by delegates and members
- Presenters are invited to respond to any questions that there was not time for, in the related Discussion Forum at the AAE website
