Our mission is to inspire positive change to Europe’s education, supporting our ministries of education’s network, as well as schools, teachers, and other relevant education stakeholders across Europe in the transformation of education processes. We do this by identifying and testing promising innovative practices, sharing evidence about their impact, and supporting the mainstreaming of teaching and learning practices aligned with 21st-century standards for inclusive education.
The Science Education Department STEM Education, including Educational (Emerging) Technologies, is one of the priorities of EUN’s MoEs. In the last 15 years, the team has been involved in 60+ projects, including EC-funded initiatives (e.g., Scientix, the community for science education in Europe) and privately funded projects (e.g., the STEM Alliance). The department consists of 24 colleagues, including project managers, coordinators, pedagogical advisers, and communications and engagement officers.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have some experience using design and video editing software and be able to find the right style and layout for every project. The candidate will be able to develop visual representations, in both print and electronic media, collaborating on various projects in the Science Education department. This position offers the opportunity to grow professionally, working in an international organisation in the field of education and technology as part of our communications department, based in Brussels.
Responsibilities
- Work on a wide range of projects, using software programs to develop graphic designs that meet EU projects targets.
- Deliver the editing and recording of different videos on the topic of Science Education for EU-funded projects in the educational field.
- Develop and implement concepts by determining the ideal usage of colour, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
- Obtain input from stakeholders to ensure that designs meet quality standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and are in line with visual identity or guidelines.
- Work cooperatively with other communication team members to meet deadlines and align on priorities.
- Retouching and optimizing images using photo-editing software.
Skills, Competencies, & Experience
Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrable equivalent experiences in graphic design, video editing, and photography are key assets.
- Familiar with the Google Suite / MS Office applications.
- Academic or professional experience with design software (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, Canva).
- Good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and especially Adobe Premiere Pro (Win OS).
- Expertise in portal management/web editing/design is a plus.
- Experience in animations and visual effects is a plus.
- Ability to manage several projects at the same time and respect deadlines.
- Very good spoken and written English. Additional languages are an asset.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma in a relevant field (film school, digital video production school, etc).
