About the role
The Community Development Advisor will work closely with AAT’s members and future members to grow the community and ambassadors within it and increase the sense of community and belonging amongst the membership. The postholder will work collaboratively with members, volunteers, and partner organisations to develop initiatives that empower communities and foster meaningful participation across the membership base.
This will be achieved through networks such as AAT branches, community programmes, platforms, and experiences that encourage community interaction, collaboration, and advocacy, and boost AAT’s reach and impact. This role will be part of the team that champions promoting the value of AAT communities. The role is focused on the UK and international communities.
Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Support:
- Support the establishment and development of local/regional member networks or branches.
- Act as a primary point of contact for a network of AAT ambassadors, providing guidance, resources, and practical support.
- Support the Community Engagement Lead (Members) in the design and management of AAT community experiences, events and programmes to bring the community together and encourage valuable interaction.
- Empower members and community groups to engage in advocacy and support the development and establishment of AAT’s advocacy programme
- Engage regularly with members and future members through online and offline channels to grow the community and ensure members feel included, are connected and can see the relevance of being an
- AAT member or aspiring member.
- Manage certain AAT community networks, groups and forums designed to increase customer sentiment, referrals and brand loyalty, including supporting the Members’ Advisory Council.
- Build and maintain relationships with diverse groups, especially those facing difficulties, to understand their experiences to help shape and improve AAT’s programmes and services.
- Leverage AAT’s online communities to promote knowledge sharing, grow authentic connections with AAT audiences.
- Identify relevant new resources, such as articles, webinars, and workshops, based on member interests and career stages.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with AAT’s ambassadors, volunteers and members, to amplify the organisation’s presence and influence at a local level.
- Represent the organisation at community events, conferences, and forums as required.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Track and report on community engagement metrics and impact, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans and policies related to member engagement and community development.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with members and branch volunteers to leverage their expertise and insights in shaping membership programmes and services.
- Collect and evaluate feedback from members to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact.
- Proactively create opportunities to identify and nurture AAT advocates and share recommendations with other relevant teams on how advocates could complement their activities and objectives.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with other teams, such as Product, Design, Brand, Customer Service, Marketing and Market Development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration.

Education & Qualifications:
- Proficient in using different platforms and CRM systems, including online learning platforms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with member management systems
