About the role
The Training and Registers Officer is responsible for supporting the RSB’s overarching training agenda through administration, evaluation, and development. The successful candidate will help to ensure that the objectives in the RSB business plan are met, with an emphasis on developing a comprehensive training offering to meet the needs of our members and the wider scientific community.
In addition, there will be a requirement to provide administrative support to the Professional Registers and the Accreditation programme to ensure growth and high-quality standards in both these important areas. The Training and Registers Officer will join a small dedicated team, overseen by the Director responsible for Accreditation, Training, and Professional Registers.
Responsibilities
- Support and administer professional registers.
- Provide administrative support for committees associated with professional registers and training.
- Input into the budget setting process and maintain appropriate financial records.
- Develop relationships with external training providers and engage in partnerships with other organisations.
- Work in collaboration with Member Organisations, supporting their existing training provision.
- Organise face-to-face and online training courses and develop new courses to meet the needs of the biosciences community.
- Represent the RSB at external events where required.
- Strengthen the link between training and professional registers to ensure CPD and training are relevant and have a positive impact on register retention rates.
- Support/develop RSB careers work as required.
- Support the social media officer to expand the reach and awareness of the RSB Training provision.
- Support the Director of Accreditation and Professional Affairs to meet all deliverables as laid out in the RSB business plan and any related work as deemed necessary.
- Provide support to the Professional Registers and Accreditation team as required.
- Carry out any additional related work as deemed necessary by the Royal Society of Biology.

Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a bioscience subject, equivalent qualification, or employment experience
Conditions of employment
