About the role
We're looking for a Project Manager to lead and deliver a range of projects that improve services and ways of working across our Services & Partnerships directorate. From initial planning through to completion, you'll work closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and, where appropriate, volunteers and people living with and affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This Project Manager role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across teams, managing complexity, and delivering structured, inclusive,e and effective change.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the successful delivery of allocated projects.
- Determine and define the project scope and its objectives in collaboration with the project sponsor, defining the resources needed to achieve them and the impact measures required to monitor their achievement.
- Manage the innovation of ideas and solutions as part of the options considered during a project’s planning phase and beyond, be proactive in developing improvements and solutions, utilising best practices, techniques, and standards during the project’s lifecycle.
- Point of contact for identified stakeholders, leading communication and engagement activities and plans, seeking support and buy-in where necessary, and providing project updates on a regular basis.
- Work in partnership with other Association staff and potentially volunteers or people living with MND to co-produce solutions where appropriate and to ensure engagement and understanding of the project.
- Oversee project progress reporting and risk & issue log management, reviewing and escalating as appropriate. Manage project spend and prepare a project budget on the scope of work and resource requirements.
- Manage contracts with third parties and suppliers, including any tender processes, assigning of tasks, coordinating timescales, and managing deliverables.
- Undertake any other task relevant to the job purpose and ensure that all functions are performed to reflect the Association's mission and core values.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Project management experience, including seeing projects through the full life cycle.
- Operational or project experience in the delivery or transformation of services and support in health or third sector organisations.
- Experience with Quality Improvement methodology.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand and manage complex issues, deal efficiently with changing priorities, and make connections from multiple sources of information.
- Experience of leveraging data and analytics to make smarter decisions, track progress, and improve performance.
- Excellent communicator with the proven ability to communicate with people at all levels verbally and in writing, using creative visual tools where appropriate to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively and ability to use various formats/methods to communicate complex issues to others, creating or overseeing the development of content to facilitate this.
- Experience in monitoring KPI’s and reporting mechanisms and processes, and in providing accurate up to date, evidence-based information to stakeholders.
