About the Organisation
Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) is the representative organisation for architecture at the European level. Its membership currently consists of 52 Member Organisations, including the regulatory and professional representative bodies in all EU Member States, 6 Observers Members (Serbia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia and Moldova) from the Accession Countries plus Members with special status (UK, Switzerland and Norway), thereby representing the interests of over half a million architects from 36 countries in Europe.
About the role
Are you passionate about architecture, sustainability, and European collaboration? The Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) is looking for a dynamic and motivated Junior Project Officer to join our team in Brussels. As part of our involvement in EU-funded research and innovation projects, you will help shape the future of architecture in areas such as energy efficiency, heritage preservation, adaptive design, circular economy, and climate-positive communities.
Responsibilities
- Contributing to the delivery of EU-funded research and innovation projects in the field of energy efficiency, Heritage, Adaptive Architecture, Continuous Professional Development (CPD), climate-positive circular communities, circular economy/renovation. Collaborating with different teams and different projects.
- Conducting desk research and providing information on the architects’ point of view on technical issues in the fields mentioned above to support project activities/documents, with the supervision of the project officer.
- Producing audio-visual content (graphics, podcast, video editing, and footage).
- Developing and writing creative content (articles, news, etc) for project websites and social media accounts, following the planning of the project officer.
- Collaborating with different services and platforms provided by the European Commission (BuildUP, Horizon Result Booster, etc) to amplify the project results and enhance its sustainability with the coordination of the project officer.
- Contribute to the project deliverables and reports under the supervision of the project officer.
- Follow up and report on training, dissemination, and communication activities performed by ACE and the project partners.
- Organise project events of different types (conferences, trainings, webinars) and formats (online, physical, hybrid).
- Attending project meetings and events, and reporting to the ACE project officer.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
Desired Profile:
- Knowledge of sustainability, circularity, heritage, energy efficiency in buildings, and digitalisation in the architecture and construction sector.
- Experience in Mailchimp, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Express), Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), WordPress, collaborative working tools (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Drive).
- Excellent written and spoken English. Other European languages are an asset.
- Motivated to learn about the EU-funded projects environment.
- Interested in new ways of communicating about the project activities and outcomes.
- Team player, ability to work collaboratively, proactive, and adaptive.
- Attention to detail, well organised, and able to meet deadlines.
- Working language: English.
Required Qualifications

Degree in Architecture or other related background.
