About the Organisation
British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK and Ireland. We have more than 24,000 members across the UK, Ireland, and overseas, and with a growing staff team who work remotely. As we have grown, so has our need to communicate more effectively and to wider stakeholder groups. Ideally, we need someone who is comfortable delivering a range of different communications functions, such as leading strategy, working with politicians and policy influencers, understanding the needs of our members, and communicating directly with the wider public about issues that matter to them.
About the role
The Events Administrator will be a member of the Membership Services Team, joining other staff on the delivery of CPD and Event activities, as well as others in the wider department that support the membership processes. This role will be to provide administrative support, ensure that processes are followed, and accurate records are kept. The role will work from home with the expectation for on-site visits where required for the purposes of staff training and practice
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support for all aspects of our CPD events, including but not limited to setting up bookings, managing invite lists, supporting delegates to register, and responding to queries.
- Receive proposals for events, check information, provide follow-up correspondence, and check information ready for review by other colleagues, working groups, and committees
- Collate feedback from events and surveys to present for review
- Set up and support online events via Zoom
- Liaise with venues and speakers about the delivery of events to ensure their smooth running
- Answer queries about events from prospective attendees and participants
- Liaise with BABCP Branches and Special Interest Groups about the delivery of CPD events. Issue CPD certificates based on event attendance
- Check the member and update the member records, and supply information on request
- Review and provide data from attendance at events and the overall programme of activities
- Provide support to the Events coordinator with the setup and facilitation of all meetings, tracking progress, and liaising with speakers and other stakeholders
- Support other processes in the membership administration section of the organisation
Skills, Competencies & Experience
Experience:
- A sound understanding of administration procedures and processes
- Experience of administering and delivering events (online or face-to-face)
IT Skills
- Working experience with Microsoft Dynamics/CRM
- Working experience with Microsoft Office software
- Working experience with Zoom for online meetings and webinars
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Able to work independently and on own initiative
- Able to work to deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail

Required Qualifications
- Relevant NVQ2/GCSE/City and Guilds or equivalent qualification or experience.
