Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations (REHVA) is a leading European organization representing over 120,000 HVAC professionals across more than 26 European countries. Founded in 1963, REHVA serves as a central platform to advance knowledge, innovation, and sustainable practices in the field of indoor climate, energy efficiency, and building services engineering.
REHVA works to improve health, comfort, and energy performance in buildings by promoting high standards in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning technologies. Through collaboration with national member associations, industry stakeholders, researchers, and policymakers, REHVA supports the development and dissemination of technical guidance, educational resources, and EU-level policy advocacy.
About the role
An important field of our activities is the participation in EU-funded research and innovation projects in the fields of sustainable building technologies, building performance, digitalisation, smart buildings, renewable energy technologies, etc. To strengthen our EU project team, we are recruiting an EU Project Officer to implement EU projects, support knowledge dissemination and communication to our members and a wide range of stakeholders at the EU and national level.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead the implementation and day-to-day coordination of EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, LIFE, Erasmus+, etc.), including the preparation of technical reports and deliverables;
- Financial & Administrative Coordination: Oversee financial and administrative project tasks in close collaboration with the REHVA EU Project Coordinator, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and internal procedures;
- Communication & Dissemination: Plan and execute communication and dissemination work packages. Manage project websites, social media accounts, and newsletters, and ensure visibility of project outcomes;
- Event & Campaign Organisation: Coordinate the planning and delivery of project-related events, workshops, and promotional campaigns across various platforms;
- Content Development: Draft and edit high-quality content for both digital and print materials, including brochures, reports, presentations, and promotional materials. Liaise with external suppliers for production;
- Stakeholder Engagement: Organise and participate in project meetings and working groups, prepare agendas and minutes, and represent REHVA at EU-level events and conferences;
- Internal Support: Contribute to the preparation of REHVA’s activity plan and annual report. Provide general support to ongoing REHVA activities as required.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
Requirements:
- Professional Experience: 1–3 years of experience in managing EU-funded projects, including financial and administrative oversight, project development, and grant proposal writing;
- Policy Knowledge: Understanding of EU energy and climate policies. Expertise in building performance, energy efficiency, and decarbonisation policies will be considered a strong advantage.
- Interest & Motivation: A keen interest in building and energy research, innovation, and technology development is highly desirable.
- Language Skills: Near-native proficiency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of French is an asset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced digital literacy, and experience managing websites and digital communication channels.
Expected Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to understand and communicate complex technical information in a concise and clear manner;
- Good coordination skills, ability to facilitate and support the work of technical expert groups. Work experience in an EU-level association is an asset.
- Well organised and a quick learner, ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
- Pragmatic problem-solving attitude.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in EU Studies, Communication Sciences, Sustainability, Economics, Energy Management, or a related field. Candidates with relevant work experience in other disciplines will also be considered.
