I’m responsible for the strategy and operational management of the Association of Association Executives, with all members of the team reporting to me. With the advice of members, Advisory Panel members, and the team, I decide what new products and services to offer, and how they should be fulfilled.

I have over 35 years experience in conferences and events, with 21 specifically supporting associations with their events, publishing, member engagement, and association management. I have headed up the AAE since its beginnings in 2006.

Heiko Stutzinger

Chief Executive Officer, Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH

As of January 2024, Heiko M. Stutzinger is CEO at Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH. Born in Troisdorf, Northrhine-Westphalia in 1974, he holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Heiko Stutzinger studied Business Administration at EBS University for Business and Law at Oestrich-Winkel as well as in Argentina and at Berkeley/USA. Following positions in business consulting, he joined Messe Düsseldorf in 2008. In 2015 he was appointed Deputy General Manager at Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai, and in 2018 he additionally accepted the responsibilities of Deputy Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf China, working from Hong Kong. He changed to Royal Jaarbeurs | VNU Group in 2019, where he initially worked at the Bangkok office as Managing Director of VNU Asia Pacific. In December 2021 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Member of the Executive Board of Royal Jaarbeurs BV, The Netherlands.
