Winners of the Association Awards UK 2017

Congratulations to the winners and shortlisted and thank you to everyone who has submitted an entry. We had a fantastic selection of entries across all nine categories.

Executive Director of the Year

Winner: Dr John Hooper, Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)

The judges said:
"A visionary leader with a strong passion. Transforming a small failing association into a recognisable international membership body over a period of under 2 years by stabilising reserves, growing income and doubling membership.  This included achieving a Royal Charter and added value for the member proposition."

Young Association Executive of the Year

Winner: Camilla Durrant, The British Dietetic Association (BDA)

The judges said: 
"With an impact beyond her team that encourages others, with a relentless focus that constantly adds value. Motivated, engaged and committed. A true demonstration of leadership that has managed to change the organisation rhetoric."

Effective Voice of the Year

Winner: The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) - ‘Project Charter’

The judges said:
"Excellent use of ambassadors to promote the profession and careers opportunities for young people. Great example of collabration with other agencies and organisations."

Special Award:

Best Conference Development

Winner: Royal Society of Biology (RSB) - International Biology Olympiad 2017

The judges said:
"An exemplary event showing the value of cooperation with different stakeholders. Very impressive entry, and use of volunteers. Great use of new technology such as FB Live, live streaming, and really pulling in the whole industry including getting on government radar which is incredibly difficult. It also hit all objectives and budgets, really impressive. Again showed good development and definitely impressive for an 8 year old association."
