About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Social Media and Communities team and contribute to the delivery of the team's strategy and targeted campaigns, maximising the reach and impact of the Law Society's services. You will support our members through targeted, timely, informed, and relevant content across organic and paid outputs.

You will liaise with various colleagues across Media, Strategic Comms, Marketing, and Public Affairs. You will also keep your finger on the pulse with social listening and keep the Law Society social media channels aligned with the constantly evolving social media updates.

This is an exciting and varied role where your expertise and knowledge will be used to great effect to make a real impact for our members. Working collaboratively with the Social Media & Communities Manager and Social Media & Communities Lead, you will create and deliver a content plan aligned with the broader social media and communities' strategy, ensuring it supports and meets overall business goals and objectives.

This includes planning and producing content for both paid and organic campaigns, as well as day-to-day activity, to effectively engage a diverse range of audiences across multiple platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. You will stay up to date with the latest social media platform updates, alongside emerging social listening tools and AI technologies, to continuously refine and improve performance.

In addition, you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to create, manage, and optimise paid campaigns that promote products, events, and member-led opportunities, ensuring they reach and resonate with the right audiences. The role also involves creating engaging and impactful visual assets, including graphics and videos, in line with brand guidelines. These assets will be developed both natively within social platforms and through the use of design and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, maintaining a high standard of creativity and consistency across all outputs.

Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Together with the Social Media & Communities Manager and Social Media and & Communities Lead, create and deliver a content plan aligned with our broader social media and communities' strategy to meet business goals and objectives. 
  • Work with the Social Media & Communities Manager on the social media planning process, including keeping the content calendar up to date. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media software updates, as well as social listening and AI tools. 
  • Plan and create content for paid and organic campaigns and day-to-day activity to engage a range of different audiences across a range of platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. 
  • Create, manage, and optimise paid campaigns with colleagues across the organisation to engage a range of different audiences in our paid products, events, and other member-led opportunities. 
  • Create engaging and impactful visual assets including graphics and videos, in line with brand guidelines, both in-app and using design/editing software Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Work with different teams across the business to advise on plans and build their understanding of what impactful written and visual social content and messages look like. 
  • Stay up-to-date with activity across the Law Society and the legal profession, working with other teams to create content and messages to communicate key information and announcements with our audience. 
  • Attend Law Society events as required to capture content, including interviewing staff and attendees. 
  • Lead on external engagement with key legal figures, organisations, and accounts on social media to find new content and build online relationships.
  • Support the Wider Social Media & Communities with monitoring/responding to comments in line with community management. guidelines and tone of voice, and escalating any potential reputational risks. 
  • Ensure all content planning and publishing deadlines are met and accurately reflect the scheduled social media content plans. 
  • Monitor, collate, and present data on the performance of social media content and campaigns, making recommendations to improve engagement where necessary. 
  • Monitor social media trends to continue to update the Law Society's best practice on social media. 
  • Support the wider Content & Digital Team as required.

Skills, Competencies, Experience & Attributes

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

  • Able to demonstrate experience of substantive work in a similar role
  • Able to create impactful social media content that engages a large, segmented professional audience.  
  • Experience in paid social, including building audiences and performance reporting
  • Experience in creating visual content for social media channels, including graphics and video.  
  • Awareness and understanding of best practices, industry trends, and different platforms.
  • Experience in working and negotiating with internal stakeholders and building strong working relationships.  
  • Experience of using Adobe design software, such as Photoshop, as well as experience of using Canva
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and effectively
