The European Hematology Association (EHA) is a non-profit organization that supports and connects hematologists worldwide. EHA promotes excellence in patient care, research, and education in hematology towards a cure for all blood disorders. Our programs and services serve medical professionals, researchers, and scientists. We provide programs to enhance the professional development of hematologists. We support and mentor career development and research, harmonize hematology education, and advocate for hematologists and hematology at local and international levels. Based in the Netherlands, EHA is a foundation led and supported in its activities by a Board of distinguished peers, an international Executive Office, and specialized committees.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, independent, and self-starting:

Membership Engagement and Recruitment Manager (32-40 hours per week)

As a membership organization EHA is dependent on the dedication and involvement of its members to develop and drive the Associations strategic direction and activities. Therefore, building membership communities is a crucial process that fosters connections and creates infrastructure for these connections.

EHA is tasked with creating a space for hematologists and all stakeholders to share, connect and work towards common goals. A space that facilitates transformations, supports innovation through collective learning and provides value-driven experiences that support the members in their own member journey.

If you are looking for a position where you are involved in everything related to our members, then this role is perfect for you . You should have plenty of ideas on how to engage our members  and how to recruit new ones. You should have brilliant ideas and a passion to help people, yet be able to work with data to ensure the initiatives you propose are in line with what our members need. Think of measuring membership engagement and upscaling participation.

Your experience in combination with your social attitude make you capable enough to deal with the various internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

  • Membership engagement
    • Develop new ideas on how to engage with members.
    • Set-up marketing tools to increase engagement. – work with other team members to measure this.
    • Ensuring members are well informed of latest updates (with Comms)
  • Membership growth/acquisition
    • Coordinate with national organizations t o set up joint memberships.
    • Identify lead potential and how to convert them.
    • Requests and analyses data from other departments to measure the Member Engagement Rate and look for potential leads.
  • Marketing and communications
    • Suggests recruitment and retention campaigns, as well as target audiences, to assist marketing efforts.
    • Coordinate membership surveys.
    • Man the booths for EHA and external events.
  • Create community platforms
    • Create new relevant communities for members (this includes forums)
    • Coordinate activities at Congress and events
  • Committee nomination procedure
    • Sets-up and keeps track of the call for interest process
    • Promote the call for interest (join an EHA committee) via marketing campaigns.
    • Informs the candidates of the progress.
    • Prepares an overview of selected candidates for the MT, EHA Board and committees.
    • Offer non-selected candidates to volunteer in another area at EHA.
  • Committee support for YEHA and Membership
    • Take notes of the YEHA and Membership meetings.
    • Write the minutes of the YEHA and Membership meetings.
    • Support with the planning of the meetings.
    • Provides the necessary data and slides.
    • Keep track of the action points.

Your profile

  • You have a minimum of 5 years experience with membership or subscription
  • You have knowledge of membership growth and retention strategies
  • You have strong sales and marketing skills
  • Familiarity with customer management systems and Microsoft Office Software
  • Self motivated and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Confident and professional manner with excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • International experience
  • Decisive and collaborative, experience of influencing across all stakeholders

  • The salary range is between € 3,800. - € 5,400 gross per month (depending on experience), based on full-time employment.
  • Hybrid working; 40% home and 60% office
