About us


ETF is the government-backed, sector-owned professional development body for the Further Education (FE) and Training sector. Our role is to grow the strength and capability of the FE profession; enhance its leadership capacity; inform its decision-makers with expert input; and develop FE professionals to excel in their roles and develop their careers. 
The Society for Education and Training (SET), which is part of the ETF, is the professional membership body for teachers and trainers in the Further Education sector.  With 20,000 members and growing rapidly, it offers a range of member benefits.  SET is also the only body that can confer QTLS and ATS – professional status gained through a combination of workbook activity, personal reflection and observation.

Responsibilities


This role requires the candidate to demonstrate capabilities, skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Develop and oversee an engagement strategy for key member groups, including:
  • Student members, focusing on the conversion from free membership and the management of the Student Teacher Advisory Group 
  • Fellows, developing the offer and content sourcing opportunities
  • Oversee the calendar of SET face-to-face and online events.  

Working with the Senior Operations Manager, this role holds ultimate responsibility for:

  • Local Network Group events held around the country 
  • Annual SET
  • Webinars and webchats.  Working alongside the marketing and communication department and in line with the ETF Comms strategy to source speakers, manage the technical provider, and host each session

Membership Engagement Reporting

  • Work with marketing and communications and digital departments to create and distribute regular member engagement reporting

Membership Engagement Research

  • Ongoing contribution to significant member research projects, covering focus groups, surveys etc, to further understand SET’s relevance and purpose in the sector

General

•    To work co-operatively with the ETF personnel, including providing cover during absence as may be requested by the Line Manager or other delegated personnel.
•    Fulfil the requirements of the ETF equal opportunities policy and procedures and implement good principles and practices within the context of the job.
•    To undertake any other duties as appropriate that are commensurate with the post as may be determined from time to time by the Line Manager.
•    It should be understood that this job description may change as the ETF develops following discussion and agreement with the post holder. The post holder will have full opportunity to discuss and be active in changes or developments.
