Job description

We’re currently looking for an Events Manager to join our Member Engagement team in London.  This is a 5-month fixed term contract (February – June 2020) to cover for a career break. 

This is a key role where you’ll be responsible for the development and delivery of a range of CPD training and networking events from conception through to completion, contributing to the delivery of ACCA’s strategy for member engagement and retention within the UK. 

The job

On a day to day basis, you’ll be involved in:

Developing and implementing effective marketing and communications campaigns to deliver a programme of CPD training and networking events
Sourcing speakers and agreeing programme content for events
Undertaking all logistical event administration: sourcing venues, monitoring budgets/raising POs, sending joining instructions to lecturers and delegates, co-ordination of venue and speaker requirements, overseeing collation of course packs, meeting and greeting delegates
Setting up events on ACCA’s online booking system and updating course content on the website to enable delegates to view and book events
Providing expertise regarding event management to other ACCA teams to assist them in the delivery of their business plans, including attending team meetings and co-ordinating roundtable and employer events

The person

We’re looking for someone who:

Has proven experience of managing events from start to finish, including sourcing topics and speakers, finding and negotiating with venues, and planning tangible outputs such as press releases, articles and website materials
Has work experience within the finance, education and/or professional sector
Has a proven track record of successfully delivering and exceeding agreed KPI’s in a professional and results driven environment
Has good financial planning and management skills, including experience of setting, managing and phasing budgets
Can demonstrate the necessary gravitas and credibility to act as a representative and brand ambassador for ACCA
Has strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport as well as high quality, trusted relationships
Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to bring new ideas on stream and see them through to completion
