AISE is the International Association for Soaps, Detergents, and Maintenance Products. Based in Brussels, A.I.S.E. has been the voice of the industry to EU regulators for over 70 years. Membership consists of 29 national associations across Europe, 18 corporate members, and 18 value chain partners. Through this extensive network, AISE represents over 900 companies supplying household and professional cleaning products and services across Europe.
The industry is a substantial contributor to the European economy with an annual market value of €41.5 billion, directly employing 95,000 people and 360,000 throughout the value chain. AISE has a long history of leading voluntary industry initiatives that focus on sustainable design, manufacturing and consumption, product safety, and safe use of products for consumers and professional customers.
About the role
European Detergents & Maintenance Products Industry Association is opening a full-time 6-month position for an intern in the Communications Team to join its staff of 20 multicultural and dynamic professionals in Brussels. Under the supervision of the Senior Communications Manager, the intern will contribute to delivering an ambitious and multi-faceted communications plan that supports a very dynamic European trade association.
Responsibilities
- Secure relevant material for A.I.S.E.’s communications to its members and stakeholders
- Draft content for communications tools including websites, social media, and publications
- Simplify scientific content to create easy-to-understand messages in good English
- Track and analyze website traffic and contribute to SEO/SEA
- Work with agency to create materials for A.I.S.E. network on consumer survey data
- Provide support for delivery of communications material for A.I.S.E. events

Skills, Competencies & Experience
- Previous experience in communications is an asset
- Good analytical skills and an ability to assimilate the various aspects of an issue rapidly
- Fluent English, excellent communication skills, and preferably good French
- Personal confidence, able to take initiative and be proactive in taking on tasks
- Good organization skills, flexible, able to work independently as well with team colleagues and under time pressure
- Good project management and excellent attention to detail
- High level of IT literacy with MS Office suite and communications tools such as CMS (Wordpress, Joomla), LinkedIn, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Google analytics
- Knowledge and interest in new media trends and techniques
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Communications, Media, Public relations
