About the role
The post offers the opportunity to gain specific knowledge on communication and outreach related to economic policy and European affairs and to support the editorial curation of the output of the organization. Brugel is responsible for regulating energy markets to ensure transparent, efficient, and fair distribution of energy resources. The Communications and Editorial Officer will be a key player in the organization's outreach efforts, helping to shape the public image of Brugel, communicate with stakeholders, and create engaging content that aligns with our mission.
Responsibilities
Content Creation and Editorial Oversight:
- Draft, edit, and proofread a wide range of content including press releases, reports, newsletters, blog posts, speeches, presentations, and web content.
- Ensure all communications materials are clear, concise, and aligned with Brugel's strategic objectives and messaging.
- Manage editorial calendars and contribute to the development of internal and external publications.
Media Relations:
- Liaison between Brugel and the media, responding to press inquiries and coordinating interviews and statements from senior management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists and media outlets.
- Prepare press kits and media briefings to ensure accurate coverage of Brugel's activities and announcements.
Digital and Social Media Management:
- Create and manage content for Brugel's digital platforms, including website updates and social media posts.
- Monitor and engage with stakeholders on social media, ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of information.
- Track digital media analytics and provide reports to guide content strategy improvements.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Support the drafting and coordination of stakeholder communications, including correspondence with government bodies, energy market participants, and the public.
- Organize and coordinate public consultations, webinars, and meetings, ensuring smooth logistics and effective communication.
Internal Communication:
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent and effective communication across the organization.
- Develop internal newsletters, memos, and bulletins to keep employees informed of company updates, policies, and initiatives.
Crisis Communication:
- Assist in the preparation and management of crisis communication strategies.
- Ensure clear, factual, and proactive communication during periods of organizational or industry-related issues.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
Skills, Competencies and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the energy, regulatory, or public sector.
- Managing media relations and editorial responsibilities.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with digital content creation and management (CMS, social media platforms, SEO).
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Proficiency in French and English (both written and spoken) is essential.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strategic thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Adaptability and creativity in communication strategies.

Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree Background in Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences, Journalism, Communications and Equivalent
