About the Organisation
Eurelectric is the sector association that represents the common interests of the electricity industry at the an-European level. Since 2019 Eurelectric has been animating a growing network of more than 50 corporates that comprise our business membership in addition to the 3500 electric utilities and associations that comprise our core full membership. Eurelectric is managing four distinct Business Hubs that facilitate connections and live peer exchanges for Eurelectric business and full members on the following topics: digital, e-mobility, electricity grids, and corporate energy sourcing.
About the role
Business Development Officer (BDO) plays a key role in driving a company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, building relationships, and increasing revenue.
Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, trends, and competitor activities.
- Analyze customer needs and industry developments to align business strategies.
Lead Generation & Sales:
- Identify potential clients and develop relationships to generate business leads.
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and partners.
- Create proposals, presentations, and sales pitches to attract clients.
Partnership & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships to maximize revenue.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, finance, operations) to ensure seamless service delivery.
Strategic Planning & Business Expansion:
- Develop business growth strategies in line with company goals.
- Identify opportunities for expansion into new markets or sectors.
- Work with senior management to set revenue targets and business objectives.
Networking & Branding:
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
- Develop brand awareness through strategic marketing initiatives.
- Engage with stakeholders, investors, and business leaders to foster partnerships.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Monitor and report on business development activities and performance metrics.
- Track sales, revenue, and customer acquisition data to assess business growth.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve business strategies.
Skills, Competencies & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in business development, public affairs, or the power sector in general;
- Strong organizational skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to supporting projects and partnerships;
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and external stakeholders;
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
- Willingness to travel for business-related activities;
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
