Association Mega Issues |
|
Mega Issues are overriding issues of critical importance that cut across multiple-goal or outcome areas. They address essential strategic questions, illuminating choices and challenges the organization must face in moving toward an envisioned future. Mega-issues articulate the questions an association will need to answer in the next five to 10 years, and discussion of a mega-issue can be embedded in the Board's ongoing planning and thinking strategically, focused on the longer-term issues that answer the question "What's next?".
- Parallel or sequential discussions (depending on variery of topics) on the most popular "Mega Issues" submitted by the Executive Heads and Presidents / Chairs (in advance of the event)
- If there are parallel discussion, then there will be a plenary session at the end where each group consecutively reports on their discussion with findings
Notes:
- Delegates will submit their mega issues prior and the week before the most popular for discussion will be announced
- All attendees from an association attend the same discussion
- Each breakout will be provided with direction to ensure they have a focused discussion, with a set of questions they have to address
- Facilitators will provide guidance to ensure the discussions remain focused
