Is the President-Asia at the Association Executives and is also a qualified lawyer, Monimita joined KW Conferences soon after its inception in 1994. She is a tenured entrepreneur with varied skills across event design and architecture, logistics management, implementation of strategic initiatives for corporate and association clients. Her extensive experience of two and a half decades in the meetings industry enables her to give strategic insight on key aspects to associations on membership development, marketing and promotions, with the objective of enhancing revenues and delegate engagement.
Chief Executive Officer , Union for International Cancer Control
Born in London, Cary Adams has a BSc Honours degree in Economics, Computing and Statistics from the University of Bath, United Kingdom and a Masters degree (with Distinction) in Business Administration. He is a Harvard Business School Alumni having attended the School’s Executive General Management programme in 2003.
In 2009, Cary made a career change, moving from the management of international businesses in the banking sector to become CEO of UICC based in Geneva.
UICC unites the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to integrate cancer control into the world health and development agenda. Its rapidly increasing membership base of over 1000 organisations in more than 150 countries features the world’s major cancer societies, ministries of health and patient groups and includes influential policy makers, researchers and experts in cancer prevention and control. UICC also boasts more than 50 strategic partners.
Cary and his team focus on global advocacy, convening the cancer community (through World Cancer Day, the World Cancer Congress and the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit) and running significant global capacity building projects that address global cancer issues.
Cary also served two terms as Chair of the NCD Alliance, a coalition of around 2,000 organisations working on non-communicable diseases, which include cancer, diabetes, heart, respiratory, mental and neurological diseases.
In 2014 he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in International Relations from the University for Business and International Studies in Geneva, and in 2015 an Honorary Doctorate in Health from Bath University in the UK. In May 2015, Cary was awarded ‘CEO of the year’ at the International and European Association conference organised by the Associations Network.
Director - Conferences , International AIDS Society
Emily T. Blitz is a conference director with twenty years of experience in public relations, multicultural team leadership and stakeholder engagement. She has intimate knowledge of all programmatic and logistical aspects involved with implementing conferences and events for 25 to 25,000 participants. At home in a international environment, her specialties include project management, event communications including social media, presentation skills, protocol, VIP and IPP handling, committee governance, programme development, and stakeholder and donor support.
Emily is passionate about health and development issues, particularly HIV, TB, NCDs, vaccines, sustainable agriculture, women's health and children's rights. Her early career included communication services for an international research institution, grass-roots health improvement projects and stage management.
Emily has worked in Austria, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Canada, Kenya, Malawi, Mexico, Russian Federation, Senegal, Sweden and Tanzania with long-term contracts in The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa and Zambia. She studied and worked in Australia, England, Thailand and United States.

I’m responsible for the strategy and operational management of the Association of Association Executives, with all members of the team reporting to me. With the advice of members, Advisory Panel members, and the team, I decide what new products and services to offer, and how they should be fulfilled.
I have over 35 years experience in conferences and events, with 21 specifically supporting associations with their events, publishing, member engagement, and association management. I have headed up the AAE since its beginnings in 2006.

Dr Lalit Bhasin

“Lalit Bhasin is president of the Society of Indian Law Firms and the Bar Association of India, and is the managing partner of Bhasin & Company.
He is also president of the Indian Law Foundation, an honorary life member of the International Bar Association, chairman of CIArb India, and a member of the ICC Arbitration India Core Group; chairman of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Task Force on Legal Services; regional president of the Indo American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), chair of staff committee and council member of the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC).
His former positions include: president of the Inter Pacific Bar Association and chairman of the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal of India.
Dr Bhasin was awarded a Doctor of Laws Honoris Causa by Jaipur University in 2013, a Plaque of Honour for outstanding contribution to the rule of law in 2002 by the Prime Minister of India, and the National Law Day Award in 2007 by the President of India.

Prof. KVS Hari
Vice President, Membership , IEEE Signal Processing Society
K V S Hari is on the Board of Governors, IEEE Signal Processing Society as Regional Director-at-Large of Asia-Pacific and as VP Membership (2020-22), as well as being a Fellow of IEEE.
He is a Professor at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, holds degrees from Osmania University, Hyderabad, a Masters from IIT Delhi, a PhD from UC San Diego and has been a visiting faculty at Stanford University, among other qualifications.
He is Affiliate Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm; is currently the Editor-in-Chief (Electrical Sciences) of the journal of the Indian Academy of Sciences published by Springer, and is Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering.

T. P. Ostwal (fondly addressed as ‘TP’) is the founding partner of T. P. Ostwal & Associates LLP and has been in practice since 1978.
He is on the Avisory Board of the International Fiscal Association. He is ex-vice chairman of IFA-Netherlands. He is ex- chairman of International Fiscal Association (‘IFA’)-India Branch. He represented India as a panelist on “Taxation of E-commerce – Policy Issues” at the 55th Annual Congress of IFA – Netherlands held at San Francisco, United States of America.
TP has extensive experience in advising national and multinational clients in direct tax, personal tax, transfer pricing, business acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures etc in addition to the traditional areas of audit & assurance and company law. Over 30 years, he has extensively advised a host of corporate and business houses engaged in diverse range of businesses on cross border transactions.
Aileen Tan Shau-Hwai
Executive Director , Asia Pacific University Community Engagement Network
Aileen Tan Shau Hwai is a Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Currently, she is the Director of Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies (CEMACS) at USM and the Executive Director of the Asia-Pacific University-Community Engagement Network (APUCEN). She was elected as the first woman president of the UNITAS Malacologica in its 53-year history, which is based in Belgium, from 2013-2016.
Professionally, her field of expertise is in marine science, specializing in mariculture and conservation of molluscs. She is the first Malaysian woman who has successfully culture the oysters from eggs and sperms through artificial spawning. Her work on oysters, as featured in the website of World Oyster Society, has gained vast recognition, not only in Malaysia but internationally. She has many research collaborations with scientists from Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, China, Australia, USA, UK and Denmark.
Her pioneer oyster project in generating additional and sustainable income to the fishermen in Merbok, Kedah received 1st place in Entrepreneurship by University-Community Transformation Centre (UCTC), Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia 2015.
Aileen is also involved in building human capacity, receiving the Best Women Scientist Award for her work in empowering the women of the Johore Islands to earn their own income through the giant clam conservation programme.
To date, she had published more than 100 articles in various scientific journals, monographs, proceedings, conferences and seminars.

Ben has spent twenty five years in the international not-for-profit sector with an emphasis on the management of professional medical associations. A visionary and entrepreneurial business leader focussed on the concept and implementation of strategies that inspire stakeholders to achieve desired goals. He has a keen understanding of the association business model, especially in business administration, relationship-building, community management, board governance, and organizational growth. Ben is the Managing Director of EASL, the European Association for the Study of the Liver. This leading international society has over 4,000 members from all continents, and the annual meeting is now the major international scientific event for the liver with over 10,000 participants. This year`s fully digital event welcomed some 8,000 delegates. EASL also runs a comprehensive portfolio of smaller educational meetings, a broad collection of online education and an array of digital tools. EASL is also active in public health, patient engagement and policy, a trusted and expert advisor to European and national health authorities. Prior to this Ben founded K.I.T.’s Association Management Division in Berlin, Germany. Managing numerous associations such as International Liver Transplantation Society, International Union of Immunology Societies, International Society for Pediatric & Adolescent Diabetes, European Operating Room Nurses Association and the World Forum on Rheumatic & Musculoskeletal Diseases. Until 2014 Ben was responsible for the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congresses portfolio, this included Europe’s largest medical conference (30,000 delegates) and 8 specialty events. In parallel he enhanced the physical events offering with digital and partnership networks such as the ESC 365 online digital platform and the ESC Global Scientific Activities international outreach program.

Iain Bitran is the Executive Director of The International Society for Professional Innovation Management (ISPIM) and has overseen the association’s growth since 2003. Iain has organised over 30 international innovation conferences, developing strong networks in the process. He has been involved in many innovation related projects and has also edited and published numerous journal issues and articles in the field of innovation management. As a business graduate with more than 30 years of experience, Iain has worked with a variety of enterprises and cultures worldwide. Prior to joining ISPIM, Iain co-founded Enterprizer Technologies where he developed decision-support tools for the management community and worked on many projects for national and regional development agencies and for the European Commission and United Nations. Iain is passionate about events and is a regular speaker at conferences around the world, particularly on the subject of how to develop successful events. He was recently appointed as a MICE Ambassador for the City of Fukuoka in Japan.
