Award categories for the Association Awards UK 2019.
The categories focus on development of projects, programmes and events, not size of the money spent, so every association has a chance to win based on their effort, innovation and skill. Request for the forms below.
1. Executive Director of the Year
This award is open to Executive Heads of Associations, for their work in professional leadership of their association.
2. Association Executive of the Year
This award is open to Executives who are not Heads of Associations, and are 40 years old or above, for their work in professional leadership of their association.
3. Young Association Executive of the Year
This award is open to young executives who are under 40 years old, and excludes Executive Heads of associations. It will reward those making a significant contribution to the development and growth of their business area within their association.
4. Best Association of the Year
This award recognises the best overall association based on the organisation's activity in the last year.
5. Effective Voice of the Year
This award recognises advancement of an issue and/or sector representation. It will reward positive influence and celebrate the association’s work towards improving a profession or sector.
6. Best Conference Development
Content, design, marketing, sponsorship and delegate, sponsor & exhibitor experience, all are vital for success in events. This award recognises the development of one or more areas of these areas of an event, taking into account: increased value for stake-holders and/or the whole association’s membership.
7. Best New Conference or Event
This award is open to associations who have successfully created a new conference or event in the last year.
8. Best Event Webcasting
This award recognizes excellence in webcasting & recording conferences and events to your membership and beyond.
9. Best Use of Event Technology
This award recognises best use of a technology to improve and add value to the experience of delegates, visitors, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors.
10. Best Member Recruitment Initiative
This award is open to associations who successfully changed or updated the way they recruit their members in the last year.
11. Best Member Onboarding Programme
This award is open to associations who successfully changed or updated their processes for onboarding new members in the last year.
12. Best Membership Engagement
This award is open to associations who successfully changed or updated the way they engage with their members in the last year.
13. Best EDI Policy
This award is open to associations who successfully created and implemented an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policy in their organisation in the last year.
14. Best Professional Development Initiative
This award is open to associations who created a brand new professional development offering or made significant changes to an existing offering, in the last year.
15. Best eLearning & Online Education
This award is open to associations who created and launched an educational, digital offering in the last year.
16. Best Association Website
This award is open to associations who created a new website or significantly updated their old website in the last year, and included some degree of personalisation for their members.
17. Best Online Community
This award is open to associations who successfully started an online community or made significant developments in reviving, growing and managing an existing online community in the last year.
18. Best Association E-Newsletter
This award recognizes an association which has re-designed or created a new, successful e-newsletter.
19. Best Social Media Campaign
This award congratulates an association which has planned and implemented a successful social media campaign in the last year.
20. Best Association Video
This award is open to associations who created or significantly updated a video offering in the last year, such as education video, interviews, a one-off video project, video channel, etc.
21. Best Volunteer Initiative
This award is open to associations who successfully created or made significant to a volunteer initiative in the last year.
